Operating principle
Embedded fluorescent probes report local winding temperatures through dielectric fibers to instrumentation mounted in an accessible area.
Installation approach
Probe placement and fiber exit routing should be engineered before winding manufacture. Mechanical protection, insulation compatibility, sealing and traceable channel identification are essential.
Communication and system integration
Available according to project configuration.
Alarm and supervisory integration depend on the selected monitor and the transformer control scheme.
Typical Applications
Oil-immersed power transformers
Confirm probe location, routing and instrument configuration against the equipment design.
Dry-type transformer windings
Confirm probe location, routing and instrument configuration against the equipment design.
Transformer thermal design validation
Confirm probe location, routing and instrument configuration against the equipment design.
Technical questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Where are probes installed?
Placement targets representative winding hot spots identified by transformer thermal design. Final locations must be agreed by the transformer engineer.
Can it be retrofitted after transformer manufacture?
Embedded winding probes normally require design-stage integration. External or accessible-point options depend on equipment construction.
